Kevin Kling
The Stories We Carry — Kevin Kling.

Saturday, October 27, 9:00 — 10:30am, Ojai Art Center Gallery

When telling a personal story, how do we recall the details hidden in our past?  In this workshop, participants will work with storyteller tools such as creating imagery, working with humor and crafting dialogue.  The workshop will also look at other elements that transform an experience into a story, especially “the invitation” where trust is developed and a conversation begins with the audience.  Kevin will break down and analyze some of his own stories and then he will work with participants on their tales.

All Tickets $20

Glenis Redmond
Glorified Poetic Conversations — Glenis Redmond
Saturday, October 27, 9:00 – 10:30am,
Ojai House, 304 N. Montgomery

This is Glenis Redmond at her best. Her mystic self is loose in this unscripted workshop. She comes to the table with all her tools, crafts and skills and plays the room much like a jazz musician. She opens the doors of this workshop by reciting poems and entering into the door of deep revelation by questioning and musing. Participants will be involved in this lively conversation and use this topic as a jumping off point to create. This Road Warrior Poet though steeped in Afro-Carolininan roots, speaks a universal tongue of love, loss, celebration, sorrow and hope. Her verse uplifts family, culture and community.
